Krugosvet.ru is one of the biggest and oldest online encyclopedias in Russia. It contains around 12,000 articles, 11,000 illustrations, 600 maps, tables and other supplementary materials.

Our goal was to redesign the site and convert it to Drupal 6 while maintaining the old catalog structure, sections and links – and throwing in some additional SEO optimization too. Performance optimization was a challenging task as well, with site traffic of some 30,000 visitors/day.
